YCPTA
Welcome Parents
You have chosen your child's school with care-now give your child more of your support by joining your PTA. Studies show that having parents actively involved in a child's schooling raises test scores and increases motivation and interest. Additionally, it assists in improving teaching conditions. In 1997, the PTA was 100 years old; it is the largest volunteer organization for child advocacy in the world. When you join the PTA, you get to know your child's principal and teachers, you learn more about the educational programs and services offered to your child, and you get YOUR voice heard. The PTA is made up of parents like you - people who care about their children and who want the best for them. You will make friends and learn new skills and you will be working for our most precious resources - OUR CHILDREN!

Announcement
The district is once again in jeopardy of drastic cuts due to the Governor's proposed mid year cuts.
The district is facing a 6.6 million dollar cut which can equate to 200 certified member positions or 330 civil service positions!
As you know, our classrooms across the district are crowded, our school facilities are in disrepair and we were cut last year in areas like Title 1. We were seeking MORE money to help, especially in capital improvement funds.
We understand the states financial deficit but our children cannot afford to be cut anymore. Please contact our state representatives to make sure that the Senate and Assembly protect our children! They cannot allow these cuts!
We need to work together. Please don't assume that others will be vocal for you! We need a strong voice for our children!
